Rite Aid: A Place Where Customers Don't Matter

From: Baruch Goldfein
RE: Rite Aid Store #3883 | 718-435-5684 | 5102 13th Avenue (Corner 51 St) Brooklyn, NY 11219
"Rite Aid is a place where customers are treated with respect and they feel appreciated and welcome." Direct Quote. See it Here!

To whom this may concern;

We, the residents of Boro Park, Brooklyn and former clients of your above mentioned location have formed an activist group aptly named "Rite Aid Sucks" to either convince you, the management that there's a serious problem that needs to be rectified or if that fails (which I know in the past it has failed, e.g.: a close friend of mine had contacted you about a year ago about this same problem, and she was audaciously contacted on the phone by an employee of the above mentioned location [which in it's own right is a travesty, that you would divulge her personal information, including her name and phone number to an employee of that location] and instead of assuring her that the problem will be taken care of she had to endure harassment, insults and arguments) to rid our neighborhood of an institution that seems to teach it's employees to be as rude and as unhelpful as possible.(I do have to say, there is one middle aged woman [she might have had a manager decal] that does seem to try very hard but she is canceled out by the countless other employees loafing around while there's one register open and a line of people waiting to hand over to you, their hard earned money). Every time I or one of my contemporaries would walk in there we would leave disgusted and astounded by the degree of chutzpah and contempt displayed by the workers and we have gauged the public opinion and have only heard it reiterated that they were treated with insolence and total disrespect and were are tired of enduring it. We take this as an affront to the community that is supporting your existence.

We hope this matter will be taken care of promptly and efficiently and a complete shakeup will occur (we expect to be notified of the proposed changes and measures to be taken) or we will have to take this campaign to the next level.

The quote preceding my letter is an excerpt from your website proclamation, I do hope that it might someday become true.

Undersigned in the name of the group committee and in the name of the community,
~Baruch Goldfein

    • I'm glad to hear that you have made changes. We at "Rite Aid Sucks" have been gauging the response of the people and require further research to show if this has been effective. I have personally been there to shop recently and have not noticed any change but I will wait and see as to how the public responds. To clarify the major issue once again; there is a total lack of "service" in the "customer service" department and that is a major problem being that retail is 97 percent "customer service". An example: I waited on line for 12 minutes (yes, I timed it) with one register open, while the other five workers, that were not occupied at the time, hanging out and discussing sports!
